I'm Hoping to Miss the Next Puke-A-Thon

I've heard that some people enjoy being pregnant. I've even heard that pregnant people "glow". Not me. I just puke.

In fact, I'm so good at the getting sick part that The-Guy mentioned we needed more words for the different types of vomit, kind of like Eskimos are supposed to have all those different kinds of words for snow.

Luckily (with the help of medication) I think I'm starting to get over the constant vomit part. I'm even starting to be able to brush my teeth without puking.

I've even managed to snap a couple of pictures. Here's an advertisement for an apartment complex near the Houston Galleria:
So in other words, "Live here if your mama taught you wrong."

And speaking of teaching right and wrong, here's a daycare where you can send your kids if you want them to go to Harvard, but don't want then to learn to spell:

So that's it for now. Hope everyone is having a good week!

  2. I love the signs you post. "Lil Harvard," indeed! I have not yet said congratulations on your pregnancy. I am so happy for you :)

  3. Oh, yes, the joys of pregnancy! My personal favorite was driving endless hours for my job, and learning to puke and keep on driving on southern LA freeways. So multitasking is just wrong! Hope you feel better really, really soon!

  4. But I know Lil! She is a delightful woman, simply capitalising on her surname. Surely?

  5. Cid - I've actually been feeling a little better. But then I tried cutting down on the medication and started throwing up again. So...I think I'll just stick with that.

    Thank you Beth!

Angela - Yeah, the car isn't so fun all the time. :-( My mom says she remembers me keeping something to puke in by my desk at work with my first, but I can't remember that at all. I mean, I'm not sure why I WOULD remember it, but I don't.

    Arizaphale - So THAT'S it!!!!

  8. Thanks Tracy!

Dr. Zibbs - Ok so your blogs been around for five years...so that's like three pukes...nope. Doesn't seem to coincide with your two stupid posts at all. Seems like it should somehow.

  9. i know im probably the LAST person who comes here that you'd want to get advice from, but have you tried nibbling on Ginger?

it worked wonders for my wife for the first few months, and then she had to stop because she started to get nausous just looking at ginger!

  11. Slyde - I actually did try ginger, but it didn't help. Licorice helps more, but of course only the hard to get licorice from way across town, not the kind I can get from the supermarket down the road. :-0

Thanks DJ Kirkby!!!!! I am feeling much better these days (as long as I take the medication...). :-)
