Texas is Exploding in Wildfires and Cookie Monster T-Shirts. And mattresses.

Hello blogging world! Contrary to all appearances, I haven't forgotten about you! It's just that school started. And also, I had to get the Sweet Pea an x-ray of her damaged-ligament wrist.

And we had to go see Robert Earl Keen

And we had to go camping and then the roads were closed so we couldn't get home without driving all over parts of Texas that we had never, ever seen (where for some unknown reason many adults were wearing Cookie Monster t-shirts).

And I had to take pictures of these mattresses littering the pavement:

This guy was upset that I took pictures. Then he told me he needed me to delete them and I was all, "Okay".

So I deleted two. But then I kept two. Because sorry, but when you throw mattresses all over the place, tourists are going to want to take pictures!

He should know that! He's a motel owner...or something. Anyway...aside from spending 27 hundred hours on the phone with the carbonite back up people (they're very nice), that's mostly what I've done.

Except for take this picture of a gummy chicken leg.

Because everyone needs one of those.

That mattress thing is odd! What was that about?

Staci - I don't know! All I really know is that he was doing something he didn't want me to know...or at least he didn't want me to have a picture of it.

LOL!!! The mattresses were all being tossed because of BEDBUGS, probably! EEEEEEWWWW!!!!

You do take some of the most interesting (and random) photos...and I love it!

Oh I hadn't thought of that Marlene! YUCK! I'm glad I used the zoom. :-)

Y'know, Marlene, the more I think about what you said, the more I HOPE that's what actually happens to mattresses with bed bugs!

Ewwwwwwwwwwww, scabies mattresses! Bwahaha...HAD a great time with y'all this weekend! Why do we not get together more often? We need to plan a get together...we have too much fun with you guys to only see each other once a year (twice a year on Bar/Bat Mitzvah years). And I also have a Cookie Monster shirt in additon to my Oscar the Grouch shirt. And I have a Marvin the Martian shirt. :)

Maybe he was airing them out and planned on putting them back...It is pretty gross no matter what way you spin in it ;) Glad to hear you made it home safely.

Weird chicken leg candy.

What would really be impressive is an entire Gummy roast chicken- life sized!

Hey! A motel near our house looked just like that one you took pictures of, except the mattresses were neatly stacked next to a big sign that said "Free"! My husband came dangerously close to vomiting all over the steering wheel when he saw the scene.

I am thinking bed bugs (shiver).
I always check for those as soon as we enter a hotel.
Then hubby tells me that Cabela's has a bed bug patch to collect them...ummm gross.

As for the chicken leg....I'd eat that, looks sweet, lol.

Ick Debbie! I hadn't thought of scabies either! Although I think of them more often than I'd really like...

Definitely on the getting together thing!!!!

Oh I hadn't thought of that either Amanda!

Mark - Let's hope!

Cid - Yeah! And then we wouldn't have to cook dinner!

Ingrid - You mean he didn't grab up one of those?!?!?!? :-0

Tracy - Yeah, me too. Although I sometimes try not to think about it too much.

Man! The Chicken Leg guy is living the Thug Life. When I grow up I want to be him!

Huh. I was SURE I'd already commented here. Unless I said something offensive and you deleted it. Which is a possibility :-)
I personally would like to see some cookie monster T shirts again.

Jill/Twipply Skwood said...

Slyde - It wasn't all that big. Nowhere near life size.

Blogger-Father - Ain't he though!?!?

Arizaphale - Nope! No deleting here! I do that all the time though (think I've posted only to later find out that I haven't).
